Flourishing in times of uncertainty: a new model of leadership

Flourishing in times of uncertainty: a new model of leadership

Date: May 5, 2026

Education opens a world of possibilities: nurturing wellbeing, purpose, and capability, and preparing individuals to navigate a complex and uncertain world with wisdom and empathy. As the systems that have provided stability for generations begin to rupture, new opportunities begin to emerge. This period of regeneration calls for new models of leadership. As part of the OECD’s High Performing Systems of Tomorrow initiative, leaders from several B.C. school districts joined Dr. Otto Scharmer for a development program designed to facilitate systems transformation to support education for human flourishing. Join Dr. Scharmer and Superintendents Rohan Arul-pragasam & Jon Rever as they reflect on the experience and how it has shaped their leadership philosophy.

Panelists:

  • Dr. Otto Scharmer, Senior Lecturer at MIT, Founding Chair of the Presencing Institute

  • Rohan Arul-pragasam, Superintendent/CEO, Chilliwack School District

  • Jon Rever, Superintendent/CEO, Central Okanagan School District
