Shaping Healthy School Environments

Support the mental health and wellbeing of all school staff and students

Join principals and vice-principals from across Canada for our next workshop.

Facilitated by: Roza Gray
Upcoming Workshop: May 15, 2024 | 12:30-1:30 pm ET

I found it relevant, engaging, I learnt new things and it was practical. I walked away with something I could use immediately with my staff.
I enjoyed the practical nature of the discussions. They were topical and relevant to our situations. The sharing that was done was also great to see as I was able to see that others were experiencing the same things that we were.
[This workshop] broke the components of organizational wellbeing down into relevant parts...provided a very good explanation of what constitutes health/a mentally healthy work environment.

School leaders play an important role in shaping the culture and environment at their school and supporting the wellbeing of their staff – and yet, many of the causes of ill-being are outside a school leader’s area of control.

In this workshop, school leaders will consider key elements of a healthy school environment and how, from within their scope of influence, they can foster a culture of wellbeing. The workshop will draw on research, EdCan’s experience working with school districts across the country, and your experience as education leaders to facilitate dialogue and generate practical strategies to support wellbeing at your schools.

During this workshop participants will:

  • Build a shared language and understanding of concepts such as wellbeing and burnout

  • Explore the relationship between personal and workplace wellbeing

  • Identify elements of a healthy school environment

  • Describe practical strategies for supporting a culture of wellbeing
