2025 Pan-Canadian Trends in K-12 Workplace Wellbeing

2025 Pan-Canadian Trends in K-12 Workplace Wellbeing Report

by: EdCan Network

Over the last decade, conversations around mental health and wellbeing have increased. A reduction in stigma coupled with the challenges of teaching through the pandemic has shone a light on the many challenges that educators are experiencing. Although these challenges have captured most of the media and research attention, they are just half the picture: many educators love their jobs.

This report explores current trends in K-12 workplace wellbeing, compiled from Canadian and international research, conversations with Canadian educators, and the EdCan Network’s 2025 pan-Canadian K-12 Workplace Wellbeing Survey. These trends encompass educators’ feelings about work and the underlying factors affecting those sentiments, a growing shift from individual-focused wellbeing strategies to an organizational focus, and conclude by presenting an emerging vision for a flourishing education sector.
